Bruce Waldman will be creating monoprints in the Carrier Pigeon Room

 

Bruce Waldman exhibits extensively in New York City and beyond. He has been teaching at the School of Visual Arts for more than 25 years, is a member of The Board of Govenors of the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, and a Director of The New York Society of Etchers. His prints are in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, The New York Public Library, The Art Institute of Chicago, The New York Historical Society, The Bronx Zoological Museum, The Royal Collection, London, The Library of Congress, Washington DC, The Housatonic Museum of Art in Connecticut, and The New York Transit Museum.

 


14 th and 15th of September  - Prints Alive!!! 

 

4heads - Governors Island Art Fair and Carrier Pigeon have invited some of the best local independent presses and publications to strut their goods on the 14th and 15th of September. To make matters worse, Sean Starwars - Woodcut Funhouse will be in full swing in the Carrier Pigeon room, He'll be slinging ink for two days with the goal of covering the walls. Sean StarWars lives in Laurel, MS with his wife and four young children.  He has taught Art at Heidelberg High School for the last seven years.  In addition to making woodcuts for over twenty years, his work is exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally.  He makes about a dozen visiting artist appearances a year at the nations’ leading art programs.  Sean is a proud member of the legendary Outlaw Printmakers and his work is in numerous public and private collections. StarWars’ work can be seen on book covers, album covers, magazines, television programs and commercials.  He is currently embarking on his most challenging project, “A woodcut a week FOR LIFE”.  Sean’s studio, “the Woodcut Funhouse”, has been a destination for printmaking professionals and students alike since its inception.

 

 

21st and 22nd of September

 

CP contributor Justin Sanz will be printing woodcuts, etchings and monoprints in the Carrier Pigeon RoomJustin Sanz is a Brooklyn-based artist who exhibits locally and internationally. His work is in the collections of the Library of Congress and New York Public Library. Sanz also works as a studio technician for artist Malcolm Morley, and as a collaborative printer and educator at the Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop.
